What is the difference between microgreens and sprouts?

Sprouts are seeds germinated in water and eaten whole, including the seed and root. A drawback of eating sprouts is the risk of foodborne illnesses. Microgreens are harvested above the growing medium, to enjoy the stems and leaves.

How much sunlight is needed?

Like any other plant, microgreens benefit from exposure to sunlight for photosynthesis. Place your tray of seeds in a sunny spot, by a south-facing window, in a room with regular lighting or under a lamp.

Is it normal to see fuzz around my microgreens?

Yes, they are actually tiny microgreen root hairs. Sometimes, this is mistaken for mold, but they are completely normal and beneficial to the microgreen growing process. If you think you see mold, please take a picture and send it to us.

Do the plants regrow after harvesting?

The majority of microgreens do not regrow. These non_GMO organic baby plants are packed with loads of nutrition in a small package. You are eating the entire plant. Seeds and growing medium sourced in the USA.

Can I use the growing medium more than once? Where can I get more supplies?
