ABOUT HANDY PANTRY
For over 20 years, Handy Pantry has been providing organic sprouting seeds and supplies, empowering families to enjoy fresh, delicious, and nutritious sprouts at home! In 2017, we teamed up with Trellis+ Co. to offer this complete sprouting kit with our seeds and their signature stainless steel lids.
ABOUT TRELLIS + CO.
We started as a family business created by a bioengineer living on a homestead in one of the remotest ares in the lower 48. When "running to the store" is a 4-hour drive, every purchase must be a robust and functional investment. Here at Trellis + Co. we design products worth investing in.
Our lifestyle inspired our line of garden-to-table kitchen tools. As gardeners, cooks, and canners, we develop creative solutions to our own kitchen conundrums and pass on that wisdom to you. Also, since we're kind of obsessed with the planet, our products are designed to last a lifetime, keeping money in your pocket and garbage out of landfills.
This could be waiting in your kitchen everyday.
Save tons of money with our Mason Jar Sprouting Systems because sprouts are ridiculously expensive to buy. Sprouts are the easiest food you can grow yourself, and they take less than 30 seconds a day to maintain. Our kits pay for themselves in the first few weeks. So grow your own and enjoy super cheap, super healthy all-you-can-eat sprouts.
After all our plastic sprouting lids broke, we knew there had to be a better solution. Then we thought: bioengineers use only 100% stainless steel, why should't we? That is why we pioneered the first 100% 316 stainless steel sprouting kit for mason jars.
We have recently taken it to the next level by creating the only 316 stainless steel ring on the market. It's made with 30% thicker stock material than standard rings. And we custom stamped the rings with our logo, so you won't confuse them with normal rings.
We carefully designed our mesh to have just the right curvature to keep your sprouts from sitting in their own. . . "water". . .all day. This goes a long way in preventing the funk from overtaking your precious sprouts.
This mesh is so effective we often leave our jars sitting flat on the counter without any problems. You also have the option to purchase one of our kits with sprouting stands for extra drainage.
We doubled the wire thickness on our meshes to make sure they'll never dent, bend, or deform.
We have also developed just the right tiny pore size to ensure that water drains completely and even the smallest of seeds can't escape.
There’s no feeling like growing your own food and then getting to sit down and eat it. This is why we get such a rush when we walk into our kitchens to check on our sprouting jars and see those very first signs of growth.
Here are 10 unique ways to incorporate sprouts into your cooking:
Sprouts are a powerhouse food, and they nourish us with a myriad of vitamins and nutrients. What better way to ensure their strength than by growing them in your very own kitchen?
Add seeds to your glass jar. Place the straining screen on the top of the jar with its dome facing down. Screw on with the stamped Trellis + Co. ring.
Soak seeds in water for 8 - 10 hours. We suggest leaving them overnight and rinsing them out first thing in the morning.
Rinse seeds twice a day by pouring water through the sprout lid and swishing the seed. Drain the excess water into the sink.
After each rinse fully invert the jar with the lid still on. Allow the lid portion of the jar to rest on the drain stand.
Most sprouts are ready for eating after 3-4 days.
