(1) Mix a ratio of 3 parts Harvest Hero product with 10 parts compost, peat moss, coco coir or potting soil. One 12-quart bag of Harvest Hero will supply approximately a 10-gallon container at the prescribed mix ratio.

(2) Consider the volume of your containers when adding Harvest Hero soil amendments. Not all growing containers have the same volumes, as there are no standards for volumes. For example, 1-gallon containers range in volumes from 3.85 quarts to 1.32 gallons. When creating your soil mix, make sure that 20-30% of your container’s total volume is Harvest Hero.

(3) Leave a two-finger gap between the soil level and the top of the container. This helps eliminate soil overspill when watering and will create a reservoir to force percolation through the soil.
